One last episode e Pablo Torre finds out explored the entity known as Life Surge, which has allegedly been ripping off Christians attending events with speakers like former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow in an effort to get them to fork over money to sign up for money-making classes.
It was enough for Tebow to suspend his relationship with Life Surge.
“The allegations are extremely, extremely serious“Tebow told reporters on Friday, “and that’s something we take very seriously. And so for us, we’re having our team do an investigation, but we’re also going to suspend our relationship “until we can learn more about the facts so we can understand more.”
Tebow was asked if he knew about the situation before Torre’s investigation.
“Honestly, I was at an anti-human trafficking conference yesterday and the team shared with me when we were leaving as we were flying to Alabama for (an) event,” Tebow said. “And we were caught off guard with some of them, and I think that’s why we’re trying to get more of the facts to really learn.”
This is not a clear and unambiguous denial. Regardless, Torre’s investigation put enough of a spotlight on the situation to make Tebow back down, regardless of what he knew or should have known before Torre pulled back the Life Surge curtain.
It’s possible the group misled Tebow in the same way it allegedly misled those who attended the events at which Tebow spoke. Historically, many Christians have traded their strong beliefs for a lot of money to charlatans who view intense faith as an opportunity to make easy money.
