Former TBS Champion Maya World was last seen on AEW Television on September 9th at “AEW Dynamite. with Rebel Heart, and the following week it was revealed that the star is now out of the running. According to a new report, the World is believed to be on the shelf for a while.
According to a recent publication by Dave Meltzer Wrestling Observer Newsletter:the belief is that the World will be out of order for “a few months”. A former fighter reported that the World has undergone a procedure. on friday reports the media that the procedure is not associated with ring injury.
World, tag team partner Hyan and Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker, Persephone and Hikaru Shida at Dynamite. So does the world lost his TBS Championship to Persephonewho also holds the CMLL Women’s World Championship at AEW All In London. Rosa and Hyan look to continue the storyline with Baker and Persephone as they take on the heel tag team act Dynamite from Baker’s hometown of Pittsburgh on Wednesday.
“That Girl” was on a hot streak in AEW before the procedure. Before winning the TBS Championship, she reached the finals of the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Tournament, where she ran into Mercedes Mone at the AEW x NJPW barred door. World was added to the tournament as a replacement for the injured Sarri.
It was the world and Hian signed to AEW back in December 2025after entering the AEW Collision match at the last minute. After a quick two-minute match, the pair would face then-AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale before officially becoming All Elite.
