The Lady of the Church commanded the office of the league. And the league’s official beer sponsor has taken full advantage of that.
There were three separate fines issued this week for players impersonating the consumption of a beverage the NFL assumed was beer. Bud Light, which reportedly pays the NFL 250 million dollars a yearis tilted in the league strike.
Tweeted the official Bud Light account:$37,384 in the jar … how many beers is he going to buy for everyone this weekend?”
That very specific amount represents the exact amount of fines levied against 49ers linebacker Kyle Juszczyk ($14,926), Colts guard Matt Goncalves ($8,847) and Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson ($13,611).
Meanwhile, and as Calvin Watkins i Dallas Morning News notes, have the Cowboys Miller Lite logos all over the background for their press conferences in Brazil, where they will play the Ravens this weekend.
It’s all ridiculously hypocritical for the NFL. But the league doesn’t care.
For the NFL, it’s done as we say, not as we cook.
