His win at Uttoxeter was the new trainer’s first since switching from John Butler’s yard earlier this month and a first success since winning over two miles at Uttoxeter in April 2024.
Goodwin face was sent off a warm favorite at Cartmel in June, two days after winning at the same track, but he was unable to repeat the feat, leaving the nine-runner field. He comes here after a long layoff and could rate an interesting contender if he can return to form.
Tilehurst won handsomely at Worcester in July and went 110 from 103 for that effort but couldn’t follow up next time, finishing second over the same course and distance earlier this month. Bradley Harris sheds a useful three kilos this time.

This son of Frankel and Guineas Heroine has been rated 87 and looked to be progressing after doubling his score on his Doncaster re-appearance, but he has since returned with two lower efforts. This is his second start since a recent operation and he remains interesting.
Londoner was recently denied at Wolverhampton in a tight affair after he was knocked down by a header. He has since put on two pounds for the effort, but is battle-hardened and may be back to her weight.
Kindly comes here on the back of two wins from her last four starts and ran well in a strong race at Ascot on her second-to-last start. Not to be dismissed lightly.
3.57 Fontwell – Siam Park take on top scorer Motazzen
The most appreciated Siam Park looks set to return to form as he gets one last goalscorer Motazzen IN Setford Handicap Hurdle.
The Joe Tizzard-trained gelding hasn’t won since last November, but has finished second twice in that time, and comes here today having his first start after wind surgery.
Fontwell-marker Motazzen brought up his fifth win over hurdles earlier in the month and the handicapper has slapped him with a four kilo penalty for the feat. Another valiant effort can be expected.
The bright legend is an interesting runner considering he went to the Punchestown Festival in April. He didn’t compete at the end but is clearly well thought of and if he can return to the form of his success at Sedgefield he could be there or thereabouts.
