Ricky Evans qualified for the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts a day after missing out on securing his place at the World Championship of Darts in a torrid end to his ProTour season.
Evans, who has endured a nightmare year, cruised through a Tour Card Tourd qualifier for the second consecutive year on Friday to seal a place at the Grand Slam, defeating Thomas Lovely, Willie O’Connor and Cristo Reyes in the deciding round.
Niko Springer produced a staggering average of 112.25 to secure his place at Wolverhampton, with Stephen Bunting and Bradley Brooks also heading to the West Midlands thanks to averages over tons, while Joe Cullen returns after beating Michael Smith in his last match.
Evans failed to qualify for Worlds through the ProTour, meaning he must go to the TCH Qualifier scheduled for November 30 to make it to Ally Pally in December.
The 10 tournament card holder qualifiers for the Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts have been confirmed:
- Stephen Bunting
- Mike Kuivenhoven
- Tom Sykes
- Rusty-Jake Rodriguez
- Niko Springer
- Ricky Evans
- Carl Sneyd
- Bradley Brooks
- Joe Cullen
