November 5: The eight nations competing in the Concacaf W Championship, which starts on November 27, have submitted preliminary lists.
United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) coach Emma Hayes has named a large 51-man squad as favorites for the competition. It includes familiar faces like Trinity Rodman, Lindsey Heaps and Naomi Girma, as well as up-and-comers like Kimmi Ascanio, Melanie Barcenas and Lily Yohannes.
The majority of players come from the National Women’s Super League, with five additions from the English Women’s Super League (WSL).
Second-seeded Canada has named a preliminary 39-man roster featuring players from eight leagues and three players from American universities.
The final 23-man roster for the eight teams will be confirmed prior to the start of the tournament which begins on November 27 at Texas Health Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield, Texas and ends on December 5 at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.
The eight participating national teams (Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama and the United States) are playing in the 2027 Brazil Women’s World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics.
The four quarter-final winners will automatically qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil, while the four losing teams will advance to the ‘Play-In’ on 2 December, where they will compete for the two Concacaf spots in the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup Play-Off Tournament.
The qualification spots for the LA 2028 Olympic Games will go to the two finalists and the third place finisher. The USA has already qualified as hosts, so if they finish in the top three (highly likely), the third Olympic spot will go to the fourth-place finisher.
Tickets for the five days of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship are now on sale. Each ticket provides access to both games played on the selected day, including the third-place game and the doubleheader in Houston on December 5th.
Broadcast partners include CBS Sports Golazo Network and Paramount+ (US – English), TelevisaUnivision (US – Spanish), ESPN and Disney+ (Mexico, Central America, Caribbean and South America), OneSoccer (Canada) and official Concacaf platforms for all other territories (subject to territorial restrictions).
