Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid as he continues to recover from a fractured wrist.
Liam Lawson will replace Hadjar for a third consecutive race as Max Verstappen’s teammate at Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda continues at Racing Bulls.
Hadjar suffered a hairline fracture in a bone in his wrist during the summer break in a routine training session involving boxing that forced him to miss the Dutch, Italian and now Spanish Grands Prix.
A Red Bull statement said: “After racing for the team at Zandvoort and Monza, Liam will continue to drive alongside Max at this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
“The decision has been taken as Isack’s recovery continues to progress positively. While he is not yet ready to return to the cockpit, he will be in Madrid supporting the team.
“Everyone at Red Bull Racing looks forward to welcoming Isack back behind the wheel very soon.”
Lawson impressively qualified just a tenth behind Verstappen at Zandvoort and finished the Dutch Grand Prix in seventh – a stark contrast to his two outings at Red Bull at the start of 2025 before he quit.
But he dropped out in Q2 at Monza, partly due to Oscar Piastri stalling on his best lap. In the race, he started from lane to track due to engine penalties, but made contact with Audi’s Nico Hulkenberg on an early standing restart, so he had to change his front wing and recovered to 14th, with Verstappen on the podium.

Tsunoda has produced two solid weekends at Racing Bulls, finishing one place ahead of Arvid Lindblad at the Dutch Grand Prix, before scoring a point by finishing 10th at Monza.
The Monza result looks set to be appealed by rivals Audi over an incident at the standing restart which saw Tsunoda retire in the wrong grid slot, prompting an extra lap of the formation.
The 26-year-old, who left Red Bull last season, expressed hope ahead of the Italian Grand Prix that he can convince someone to give him a place on the grid in 2027.

Audi has lodged an ‘intention to appeal’ after Yuki Tsunoda escaped a penalty for the incident at the restart of the Italian Grand Prix.
“I’m free! I’d like to hear those calls, but not yet,” he said. “It’s good that things are going positive, at least.
“Obviously, my main objective is to be in Formula 1. Let’s see. In this world anything can happen. At the same time, it’s also knowing that it’s not easy to have a place.”
