ADCC 2026 is in the books and out that ugly fight with Gordon Ryan and an anticlimactic superfight, the card saw many submissions and created new stars. In Krakow, Poland, the first eight ADCC World Champions were crowned, being a veteran Felipe Pena was able to win gold and further add to his Hall of Fame resume.
Joslyn Molina could also set an unsurpassed record by becoming the youngest ADCC medalist in history.

Duarte dethroned 99 kg, injured in super fight; Griffith wins a miraculous comeback
Kaynan Duarte came in as the reigning two-time champion looking to add to his decorated resume by competing in both the 99kg and main event superfights. Instead, he ended up suffering two tough losses.
After going through an incredibly stacked division that featured champions like Adam Wardzinski, Eoghan O’Flanaghan, Declan Moody, Daniel Schuardt and Achilles RochaDuarte and Luke Griffith met in the final.
Duarte appeared to win most of the exchanges with takedowns and close pass and rebound attempts. After being on the back foot for most of the contest, Griffith finally shook off Duarte, then sprawled hard on a takedown attempt.
He immediately capitalized, took back and finished with a choke to complete a shocking comeback. After taking silver in 2024, Griffith upset Duarte to win his first world title.
Duarte’s misfortune was to face it Yuri Simoes in a superfight in the main event of ADCC 2026. It was a terrible and uneventful main event that spent over 20 minutes standing. Duarte was penalized for inactivity and the crowd booed the match heavily. Things only got worse for Duarte, because when the first scrimmage of the match happened only in overtime, he was also immediately injured on the shift. He couldn’t move his shoulder and immediately tapped to give Simoes the win by injury.
In an effort to add two more world titles to his resume, Duarte lost twice and was part of one of the most uneventful and climactic ADCC main events of all time.
Returning Champions: Pena wins ADCC 2026 Absolute Title, Vieira defeats Galvao
Only two ADCC 2024 champions returned, but both still managed to walk away with ADCC 2026 gold medals. Felipe Pena lost the judge’s decision Josh Saunders +99 kg in the semifinals, then refused to participate in the bronze medal match. He only cared about gold and trying to stay fresh for the absolute division.
That decision paid off as he racked up four more wins to win gold in the all-around. Pena, one of the all-time greats, collected six wins for the night and became the first-ever two-time ADCC Absolute Champion.
Another returning champion was Ana Carolina Vieirawho not only successfully defended his ADCC title but also avenged his loss at the same time. He met Sarah Galvao in the finals, and after a long stalemate, he took advantage of one mistake and gave him a rear naked choke in double overtime. Vieira is now a two-time ADCC World Champion and also avenged an earlier loss to Galvao in Game 2 of CJI.

All subscribers! Helena Crevar, Victor Hugo, Jasmine Rocha among 8 new ADCC champions
Among the eight first-time ADCC champions crowned at ADCC 2026, three of them even had perfect runs. Helena Crevar, Victor Hugo and Jasmine Rocha not only won gold in their respective divisions, but they all submitted every opponent they faced.
A BJJ prodigy, Crevar moved up to heavyweight and impressively became the ADCC World Champion at just 19 years old. Apart from facing bigger opponents, he won every match when he quit Anabel Lopez, Elizabeth Mitrovic and Matilda Reid to win gold in the +65 kg division.
Crevar won silver at the last ADCC in 2024 and is now the youngest female grappler to win gold.
In the +99 kg section Victor Hugo submitted all four opponents en route to his first ADCC World Title. Four-time gi world champion Hugo has now also won the most prestigious title of no gi.
Like the other two, Jasmine Rocha was another new champion with a perfect submission percentage as the second-generation caddy won gold at 55kg. He finished Anna Rodriguez with a late rear naked choke and also won the bronze medal for a quality performance Ana Mayordomo and Kanae Ikeda.
Rocha competed in ADCC 2026 with his 44-year-old father Wagner Rochaand brother Achilles Rochawho took fourth place in the weight category of 88 kg.
66kg was by far the most stacked feather at ADCC 2026 and is where Kennedy Maciel won gold to follow in the footsteps of his father, a three-time ADCC champion Charles Cobrinha. He had the best run of his career by batting Gavin Corbe, Diego Pato, Fabricio Andrei and Kamil Wilk en route to his first ADCC title.
The other two first ADCC champions are local Polish stars Pawel Jaworski and that of Dagestan Magomed Dzharbayevwho won 88 kg and 77 kg respectively. The pair ended Europe’s drought of not having had an ADCC man in 23 years.
14-year-old becomes ADCC’s youngest ever medalist; The Filipino will get the silver on short notice
Outside of the fresh world champions, more records were broken and history made at the event.
A 14-year-old girl weighing 55 kg has become the youngest ADCC medalist in history, which may just be an unbreakable record. Joslyn Molina to hit Injana Goodman and Mo Blacktwo adult black belts and ADCC trials champion, won bronze in the 65 kg division.
Molina only lost to a pound for pound and BJJ prodigy Sarah Galvao by points.
Gavin Corbe also deserves a lot of credit for his great run in the 66kg weight category as he didn’t even have to compete in ADCC 2026. He beat three men and put on a show against Maciel in a tight final to take silver despite being a late replacement for ADCC 2026.
Despite not having a training camp and coming into the event with just 11 days notice, Corbe took advantage of his opportunity to become the Philippines’ first-ever ADCC silver medalist.
