Brandon Aiyuk will no longer play for the 49ers, but his future is in question.
The wide receiver arrived at the team’s business offices in a van with his agent Friday afternoon to meet with the 49ers and apparently negotiate a settlement.
“Obviously, Brandon is here to meet with the team,” Drew Rosenhaus, Aiyuk’s agent, said before the meeting, via video from SF Standard’s David Lombardi. “Fortunately, he feels good physically. He is healthy. He is ready to go back to work. I have no comment on where he will play. We’ll keep it between us and the Niners. But obviously we’re here with all the right intentions.”
Aiyuk last played in a game on October 20, 2024, when he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee. The relationship between the team and the player subsequently fell apart and the 49ers voided the guaranteed money due to his unwillingness to rehab at their facility.
The 49ers placed him on the reserve/left tackle list on December 13, 2025. Rosenhaus filed for reinstatement on October 27, but the NFL has not yet been restored to him.
“Nice to see you all,” Aiyuk said. “I feel good, I feel healthy. It was a long recovery process, a long rehab process. But I’m back to 100 percent and I’m looking to get back in the National Football League.”
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said earlier in the day that he “couldn’t care less” about how the meeting went since “it’s over for our football team for a long time.”
