WWE is reportedly set to honor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 30th anniversary in WWE this month by celebrating his debut at Survivor Series 1996. Johnson made his debut as Rocky Maivia alongside Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Marc Mero and Barry Windham on a four-on-four where he was the surviving love.
By: WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful SelectWWE is set to mark the occasion with merchandise, including a commemorative title belt, as well as a social media campaign celebrating The Rock’s nearly 30 years. The magazine has not confirmed whether she will appear on television during the month of November or at Survivor Series itself. Bloodline, including World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, is expected to face The 946 in a WarGames match at the Nov. 28 event.
The last time WWE commemorated The Rock’s debut anniversary at Survivor Series 2021, the storyline didn’t go over well with fans. Johnson was nowhere to be seen at the event, either live or via a pre-recorded “thank you” segment, and the show focused in part on behind-the-scenes segments where Vince McMahon Claims He Has Cleopatra’s Golden Egg near him, a nod to The Rock’s Netflix movie Red Notice, which had just been released.
The egg was “stolen” at the event, and McMahon appeared on WWE Raw the next night to solve the mystery. It turned out that Austin Theory had stolen the egg, but the star still got a shot at the WWE Championship.
It was the rock last seen in WWE at Elimination Chamber 2025. He stood by John Cena and Travis Scott when Cena turned on Cody Rhodes. While many fans expected him to appear at WrestleMania 41, The Rock revealed that he had decided to back out of the story.
