November 6: The new 2026/2027 Bulgarian efootball season kicks off on November 9, with a major rebrand, revamped competitive format and record-breaking prize pool.
Organized by the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) together with esports.bg, the national championship has been renamed eLeague, adopting a structure that further aligns it with the Bulgarian First Professional Football League (efbet League).
With the support of main partner Red Bull Bulgaria, this season boasts a national record prize money of €6,000 for EA Sports FC competitions. Beyond the prize money, the eventual eLeague champion will earn direct spots in both the eChampions League and the prestigious Esports World Cup (EWC).
The defining change of the 2026/2027 format is how players connect with real-world Bulgarian football. Ratings are no longer locked to specific clubs. Instead, each winner gets the right to choose which of the 14 efbet League clubs they want to represent during the regular season, as long as the place is still open.
This reform aims to deepen the connection between competitive players and football fans, allowing players to fight for the title while representing their favorite shield, while giving traditional clubs a direct bridge to the younger gaming audience.
The journey to the title begins between November 9-28, 2026, with an intense phase of 14 open qualifiers hosted on PlayStation 5 via Ultimate Team mode in EA SPORTS FC 27.
Each qualifying winner secures a spot in the regular season and selects which efbet League team to represent. The main competition takes place during February and March 2027, as the 14 ranked players face off in a unique round-robin league format inspired by the Bulgarian top tier, competing in 13 rounds of live matches.
The battle reaches its climax in April 2027 with the playoff stage. On April 16 and 17, the top eight players face each other in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. It all culminates on April 18 with a grand finale in front of a live audience at a dedicated LAN event.
