Silva (21-5-1) won the vacant 125-pound title at UFC 332 defeating on Saturday Cong Wang by unanimous decision in the main event at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Shortly after the win, Shevchenko, who vacated the title due to lingering injuries, warned Silva that he would soon reclaim his belt.

Silva put on a stunning display at UFC 332, picking off Wang en route to a unanimous decision victory, extending his UFC record to 9-0 and his streak to 15 overall. Shevchenko praised Silva after the match, admitting the rising Brazilian was “worthy” of the belt.
“Well deserved, Natalia! Congratulations! It’s a pleasure to know that the UFC champion’s belt is now held by a deserving martial artist like you!” Shevchenko posted on X. “But don’t get too comfortable – keep warm, I’ll be back for the belt soon!”

in November 2025, defeating The Chinese Star for his ninth title defense over two reigns.
