Fury vs Joshua: Tyson Fury puts chances of mammoth all-British heavyweight clash vs Anthony Joshua going ahead at one per cent | Boxing News

Tyson Fury has claimed he has a “one per cent” chance of his fight against Anthony Joshua going ahead.

On Thursday, confirmation finally arrived that Fury and Joshua’s all-British heavyweight clash will take place at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday 11 December after months of protracted negotiations to stage the biggest fight in British boxing history.

Rage, however, cast doubt on the deal on Saturday claiming that Joshua was trying to pull out of the fight and has given his assessment of the chances of the much-anticipated heavyweight bout going ahead.

Asked on his YouTube channel ferocity At what percentage does he think the fight is going, Fury replied: “One per cent.

“If you’ve got a guy who wants to fight, yeah, and you’ve got a guy who doesn’t want to fight, then how are you going to make that fight happen?

“I’ve had almost 40 professional fights, yes, and I’ve been at the top of this game for over a decade, right? How did I get to fight all these people before you, all these champions, yes, for all these titles there are in boxing, but, yes, whenever it comes to fighting (Joshua) … it never happens.

In a post on social media, Tyson Fury claims both Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua are making another attempt to pull out of the fight after a big announcement earlier this week.

“Did he ever wonder why?”

Fury also claimed he had originally agreed to take the fight at Croke Park in Ireland, a venue that has only hosted two boxing matches in its 142-year history.

“In the beginning I signed the contract to do the fight in Ireland, in Croke Park, because that’s where I wanted to do the fight, Croke Park in Ireland. So if I had stuck to the contract, this fight wouldn’t have happened, right?

“There’s nothing I didn’t agree to, nothing. I’ll even strap concrete blocks to my boots to fight this fight. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to fight this fight.”

In 2010, Anthony Joshua sat among Fury’s Brentwood supporters to watch Gypsy King’s emotional knockout of John McDermott in a rematch.

Despite his initial skepticism, Fury ended his interview by admitting that his signed contracts mean the fight could go ahead after all:

“I think it will. Because from what I’m hearing, they’ve already been paid. So the fight has to happen.

“Not unless (Joshua) wants to give the dough back, which I can’t see them wanting to do.”
