Rafael Cordeiro honors Mike Tyson at Kings Championship 3 in São Paulo, marking four decades since his historic victory over Trevor Berbick.
Tyson was 20 when he knocked out Trevor Berbick to win the World Boxing Council heavyweight title on November 22, 1986 in Las Vegas.
“Honoring Mike Tyson in Brazil and at my event is an amazing honor for me. Being around him was a unique privilege that allowed me to know the man behind the legend,” Cordeiro, who trained Tyson, told Sherdog.
Tyson is scheduled to attend the Kings Championship press conference on Nov. 20 and visit the Brazilian Boxing Confederation’s training center the following day to meet with children participating in the community program. He is also expected to promote his brand of hemp-derived products at a trade fair in Sao Paulo.
The card features eight MMA matches and two boxing matches. Jonathan Machado will face Vitor Costa for the middleweight title in the main event.
