A certified firecracker is entitled “Alla alla”.
6th place Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender, Quillan Salkilldcollides with a French action fighter, Benoit Saint-DenisIn the five-round main event of UFC Sydney, which takes place on Saturday, February 6, 2027, at the Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia.
The UFC officially announced the 155-pound showdown today on social media.
Salkilld (13-1) is perfect (6-0) inside the octagon, with five of those wins come via a first-round finish.
The 26-year-old Australian is coming off his first UFC main event where he choked Mateusz Gamrot opening round (watch the highlights).
After that win Salkilld called for a Saint-Denis show at Madison Square Garden. He didn’t get a fight in the “World’s Most Famous Arena”, but he still got his way.
And now he faces the “God of War” in his homeland.
Saint-Denis (17-4), meanwhile, is trying to bounce back from a devastating loss that ended its four-game winning streak. French bruise put me to sleep Paddy Pimblett in just 52 seconds on the clock UFC 329 earlier this year (watch the highlights).
Before that setback, Saint-Denis had torn through the lightweight division with a stoppage Dan Hookerstrikes out Beneil Dariush in just 17 seconds (watch the highlights), transfer Mauricio Ruffy his first UFC loss (watch the highlights) and submission Kyle Prepolec.
No other fights have been announced for UFC Sydney at this time.
The event marks the UFC’s first “Fight Night” themed event in Sydney since then Fabricio Werdum defeated Marcin Tybura back in November 2017. The campaign’s last three visits to the city have all been numbered events.
Salkilld has already established itself as Australia’s brightest title contender. A win over a proven lightweight wrecking ball like Saint-Denis could push him within touching distance of a championship opportunity.
Of course, getting through the French madness is rarely easy.
