Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders sue My Chemical Romance over brand infringement

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are taking legal action after their trademark was allegedly infringed by the band “My Chemical Romance.”

The highlight of The Addiction is the stage show My Chemical Romance will be performing as part of their “Long Live: Black March” tour. On October 23rd, the group held a concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which featured cheerleaders as part of the act – styled and coordinated just like the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.

The lawsuit alleges that the cheerleaders’ costumes and designs were so similar to those of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders that an ordinary person would easily confuse them with the band’s members on stage. This went a step further as cheerleaders armed with fake guns on stage took part in a simulated bonfire.

This is not an indictment on money, but rather simply protecting their brand. The cheerleaders are seeking a temporary restraining order and an injunction, specifically regarding the costumes the cheerleaders wear. A statement released by Pro Silver StarThe Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, who serve as management, said they have no problem with My Chemical Romance and support free speech.

“Silver Star only requests that those performers not wear the DCC uniform while wearing it,” the filing said. “The universe of alternative clothing designs is effectively unlimited.”

The Cowboys Cheerleaders have a point. From the video above, it’s reasonable to assume that they are. common sense Cowboys cheerleaders, perhaps working under contract with the band. This is a situation in which the group not only enjoys, but also engages in theatrics beyond the scope of cheerleaders.

The lawsuit comes after the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders made waves by becoming the first cheerleading squad in the NFL to be recognized by the Cowboys. Organizing as the “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Association” (DCCA), the union pushes for equal pay, rights and protection of its brand from infringement, as it believes has happened here. The move to unity was partly due to the huge success of the cheerleaders on the Netflix series. American Sweets: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders; This resulted in some members of the group receiving significant pay raises, while others did not.

As for the charges, cheerleaders seem to be making fair demands. They’re not asking My Chemical Romance to change their show art or make any significant changes – just use literally any cheerleader design on the face of the earth. This way, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will ensure they are not misidentified.
