US Open: Naomi Osaka’s fashion ensemble in New York – which outfit was your favourite? | Tennis News

Naomi Osaka may have left the US Open, but she came out with a bang – colorful and a little wild. Which outfit was the best for you at the tournament?

The two-time US Open champion may have lost a lopsided fourth-round match to Elena Rybakina, but she continued to make her mark as the tournament’s undisputed fashion queen.

Osaka, already known for her tournament fashion breakthroughs, upped her game at the year’s final major with a series of dramatic ensembles – all with a basketball theme as her sponsor, Nike, honors the New York Knicks’ championship victory.

The Sky Sports Tennis team look at all the incredible outfits Osaka has worn this week at the US Open and pick their favourites!

For her first-round match, Osaka channeled NBA great Allen Iverson in a long, white tulle skirt and a dramatic gray hooded robe. When she removed the hood, Osaka’s hair was covered under the headband, reminiscent of Iverson’s look when he was the NBA MVP while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Her ensemble was designed by New York-based streetwear brand Who Decides War.

For the second round, Osaka – a four-time Grand Slam champion – arrived on court in an ensemble by Thom Browne, featuring a flowing white jacket embroidered with crossed tennis rackets. Underneath, the mesh fabric of her tennis skirt resembled a basketball net.

For the third round, she wore the label Monse – an oversized hybrid of a gray suit jacket and hooded sweatshirt over gray wool joggers, an outfit designed to combine business wear with sportswear.

After her loss on Monday, Osaka arrived on court in a coat of many colors: a fur-trimmed coat designed by Brooklyn-based label KidSuper.

The Japanese superstar was asked if she was disappointed that there might have been other fashion looks she would have planned to show if she had stayed longer.

“I mean, I think there’s always something, you know?” Osaka said. “I feel like this is a way that I can have fun and excite myself as well.”

The US Open is live on Sky Sports from August 30. Broadcast tennis without a contract in TANI AND The Sky Sports app. You can also watch the Laver Cup at The O2 in London from September 25-27 live on Sky Sports.
