The Pelicans signed a free agent contract Jalon Mooreon the team press release.
A 6-foot-7 forward, Moore spent two seasons at Georgia Tech from 2021-23 and then two years at Oklahoma from 2023-25 before going undrafted last year. As a senior in the 2024/2025 season, he averaged 15.9 points and 5.8 rebounds in 30.3 minutes per game in 34 appearances (all starts) for the Sooners, posting a solid .471/.381/.840 shooting line.
Moore was previously projected as a possible second-round pick in 2025 got an achilles tear during a workout with San Antonio, prompting his agent Mike Silverman call for changes in the way the pre-qualification process works.
“We really feel for Jalon,” Silverman told Jonathan Givony in June 2025.It’s time to modernize the NBA pre-draft process. Flying across the country for intense competitive training puts players at risk of serious injury. No other professional sports league puts its draft prospects in this position.”
Although Moore missed all of last season, the Pelicans signed and refused his in September 2025 to acquire his rights in the G League, with a view to keeping him in their system for 2026/27. The 23-year-old’s new deal is likely an Addendum 10 contract that will allow him to earn a bonus of up to $91,000 if he opts out of the deal before the season and spends at least 60 days with the Laketown Squadron, New Orleans’ affiliate.
Moore returned to action in July, averaging 6.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG and 1.3 SPG in three games (19.3 MPG) for the Pelicans’ Las Vegas Summer League team.
Pelicans refused a great man Christian Koloko to sign Moore. Their roster is now back to the preseason limit of 21 players under contract.
