The Mavericks compliance is expected Moussa Cisse through Oct. 1, guaranteeing the remainder of his $2,185,116 salary for the 2026-27 season, according to Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News (Link to Twitter).
Cisse’s contract, which was originally non-guaranteed, became partially guaranteed for $1,092,558 while he remained on the Dallas roster until September 1st.
A 6-foot-11 center from Guinea, Cisse went undrafted in 2025 from Memphis and spent the 2025-26 season — his first season — on a two-way deal with the Mavericks. The 24-year-old big man averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 38 games (13.9 minutes per game) while shooting 57.4% from the floor and 46.9% from the foul line.
Cisse, who also earned 12 DNP-CDs as part of his 50 active games, signed a two-year minimum salary offer letter with the Knicks as a restricted free agent this summer. The Mavericks matched that deal and now have Cisse under contract for the 2026/27 campaign.
Cisse’s $2.57 million salary for 2027/28 remains non-guaranteed.
