Free forward Kevin Knox II will sign Exhibition 10 contract with Art magic and participate in training camp, a league source tells Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel (Link to Twitter).
Knox, 27, has seven years of NBA experience but spent last season with the Windy City Bulls, Chicago’s G League affiliate. He appeared in 26 games, all starts, and averaged 22.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 34.7 minutes per night.
Knox played his first three and a half seasons in the NBA with the Knicks, who selected him ninth overall in the 2018 draft. He was traded to the Hawks in January 2022, and signed with the Pistons as a free agent in August of that year. Since then, he’s bounced between the NBA and the G League, making brief stops in Portland, Detroit again and Golden State, as well as spending time with Rip City Remix and the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Because he has more than four years of NBA experience, Knox is not eligible for a two-way contract, but the Exhibit 10 deal gives him a chance to earn up to $91,000 in a bonus if he is waived and spends at least 60 days with the Osceola Magic, Orlando’s G League affiliate.
Also Wednesday, Orlando announced signatures Ricky’s Council IV, Au’This Toney, Ace Baldwin Jr and Jaron Cumberland. They all received Exhibit 10 deals and will be canceled, a Beede source said.
The Magic announced their roster for training camp, which begins Tuesday, Beede Relays (Link to Twitter). It has 20 players, one down from the offseason.
