Delgado says he has envisioned his upcoming fight with Silva many times before the match. He claims that his confidence in his vision has continued to grow, so that he no longer has to close his eyes to envision the moments he wants to create.
“Every thought I have right now is how to get Jean Silva out in the most spectacular way possible, and I love it, man,” Delgado said in a recent interview. “I can see it so damn clearly. I used to have to close my eyes to see these things. I tell you; I can keep them open and see it now.”
Delgado accepted the fight on just a few weeks’ notice, stepping in for the former interim champion Yair Rodriguezwho withdrew from the event due to injury.
