Ex Nuggets forward Vlatka Chancharwho now plays for Spain’s San Pablo Burgos, has suffered a torn meniscus that will require surgery, Eurohoops.net relay.
Cancar is expected to miss several months of action. His career was sidelined by multiple injuries during and after his NBA career. Since October 2023, Kankar has appeared in just 21 games.
Canchar, who was on the Nuggets’ roster from 2019-25, returned to Europe before last season and signed with Armani Milan. However, a knee injury limited him to two games.
He also suffered a broken leg and wrist in 2022, and in August 2023 he tore his cruciate ligament in an exhibition match before the FIFA World Cup. A torn ACL forced him to sit out the entire 2023/24 NBA season. He then underwent another procedure on the same knee in December 2024.
The following year, he played just 13 games for Denver. His best NBA season came in 2022-23, when the 2017 second-round draft pick played in 60 games, averaging 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 14.8 minutes per contest. Overall, he played 143 NBA games, averaging 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 10.7 minutes per game.
