The DP World Tour will not allow any player who registers with LIV Golf next season to be a member of its circuit in 2027.
Some of the world’s best players were bailed out of the European Tour in previous seasons, allowing them to compete on both circuits.
But DP World Tour chief executive Guy Kinnings has said players now have to “make a choice”.
To qualify for the European Ryder Cup team, players must be members of the DP World Tour.
Kinnings told BBC Sport: “Players have to make a choice. We have rules and regulations that are there to protect our tournament and which our members must all abide by.
“Players who are unwilling to abide by our rules and regulations should not seek to join our tournament.”
LIV Golf has been contacted for comment.
LIV’s future is in doubt after Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund pulled support at the end of the season and is going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the United States.
The spin-off series has secured an initial funding commitment for a potential US$300m (£227m) investment from BC Partners Credit to help reopen LIV 2.0 in 2027.
Deadlines for both tournaments fall next month and players will be required to reveal where they intend to play.
LIV players such as Jon Rahm, Tyrell Hatton and Victor Perez and Tom McKibbin are currently eligible to play on the DP World Tour under one of its membership categories.
Rahm is set to leave LIV Golf after refusing to accept new terms offered for its proposed reopening and is reportedly owed up to US$150m (£113m) for the remainder of the contract he signed almost three years ago.
