The Cowboys have lost another safety to an injury that will keep him out for several weeks.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday that Jalen Thompson will miss about a month after injuring his hamstring in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens in Rio. The Cowboys have PJ Locke on injured reserve already and Malik Hooker is recovering from a broken forearm.
“Security the position is difficult. We’ve been hit there, no doubt,” Jones said, via the team’s website. “And in the corner (back) as well, to the same extent. We hope Hooker gets a shot this week. But unfortunately, it looks like we’re going to miss him (Thompson) for a couple of weeks, along with Locke. “That safety spot, we’re definitely going to look to see if there’s a way to improve that while they both (rehabilitate). They’re both looking at four more weeks of missed time.”
Defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard (calf) and cornerback Shavon Revel (knee) were also injured Sunday, and the team is waiting for more word on their outlook for the next few weeks.
