The Clippers intend to open a spot for a two-way contract on their roster before training camp by waiving the center Jamarion SharpeBleacher Report and The Stein Line’s Jake Fisher reports (Link to Twitter).
Sharp, 25, was uncommitted from Ole Miss in 2024 and has since played primarily for the Texas Legends of the G League. The 7’5″ big man had a huge year for the Legends in 2025/26, earning a spot on the G League All-Defensive Team and to be named NBAGL Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 3.9 blocks per game.
An elite rim protector in both the G League and college, Sharp led the NCAA in blocks in 2021/22 (4.6 per game) and ’22/23 (4.1) while playing for Western Kentucky. Playing for the Raptors in the Las Vegas Summer League this past July, he averaged 7.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in just 18.2 minutes per game over five games. That performance helped earn him a two-way contract with the Clippers, which he signed in August.
However, according to Fisher, the Clippers have decided to keep their third two-way slot open for the start of training camp (Link to Twitter), who hears that the team is not currently looking for anyone to replace Sharp. Assuming Sharp officially opts out on Friday and goes unclaimed this weekend, he will become an unrestricted free agent on Sunday.
