Chris Kent has been named head coach of the Austin Spurs, the NBA G-League San Antonio affiliate announced press release.
Kent joins Austin after serving as assistant coach and director of player development at Florida State last season, helping guide the Seminoles to an 18-15 record. Kent spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach with Rip City Remix, the Trail Blazers affiliate.
Kent began his coaching career as an intern with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants from 2013-15 before joining Florida State as an assistant. He later served as the Director of Player Development at South Florida during the 2017/18 season before joining the Chicago Bulls in 2018 as an intern coach. Kent served as video coordinator for the Bulls for three seasons before being promoted to assistant coach at the Windy City Bulls for the 2022/23 season.
