Celtics Sign, Waive Hank Morgan

The Celtics signed and refused Hank Morganaccording to The Official Transaction Journal of the NBA.

It’s unclear when Morgan first signed with Boston, but he was released on Friday. He almost certainly signed Exhibition 10 deal to receive a bonus of up to $91,000 (in addition to his regular salary) to play for Boston’s G League affiliate in Maine.

A 6-foot-5 wing who went undrafted out of Division III Hamilton College in 2025, Morgan spent his first pro season in the NBAGL with the Salt Lake City Stars and Maine Celtics.

According to Robbie Fletcher of CelticsBlogMorgan was the only former Div. III player to participate in the NBAGL last season. The 24-year-old originally thought he would play professionally in the Canadian Basketball Super League, but the BSL season was delayed and he ended up attending an open tryout with the Stars last fall and earned a roster spot after impressing Utah’s affiliate club.

Salt Lake City waived Morgan in January after he averaged just 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game in 15 games. Still, he told Fletcher he’s determined to be aggressive if he gets another opportunity and play better for Maine down the stretch.

In 17 games with Maine, Morgan averaged 8.2 ppg, 2.6 ppg and 1.5 ppg at 19.2 mpg on a .472/.424/.750 field goal line. He was originally signed due to a series of injuries, but finished the season with the NBAGL club and played for Boston’s Summer League team last month.
