Romeo Moreno and Noam Darr and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger would face off in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after victories over the NXT Tag Team Champions, Vanity Project and AAA World Tag Team Champions The Wagner Brothers, respectively. In “WWE NXT”.
Moreno and Darr shocked Brad Baylor and Ricky Smoaks, even after the team tried to hurt Darr live on “NXT”. The champs looked to keep Darr and Moreno away from each other, taking Darr down against the steps on the outside.
Dar unleashed a flurry of offense once he was able to tag in, and attempted to quickly pick up Smokes. Baylor dropped Darr on the back of his neck with a knee, but Darr continued to fight. The match descended into chaos, with teams knocking out their counterparts.
Moreno broke up the pin after Vanity Project hit the Hit It and Quit It and avoided the move. Moreno and Darr hit Smokes with a pair of spinning backfists and Darr pinned him for the win.
El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno put up a good fight against Walker and Ledger, but couldn’t get the job done. Galeno overpowered both men and helped his brother fly over the top rope to take down the opposing team.
Galeno hit both Walker and Ledger with a standing uppercut, but they rallied to double team Wagner Jr., requiring Galeno to break the pin. Wagner Jr. hit Walker with a moonsault and Galeno followed up with a frog splash but Ledger broke up the pin.
Walker and Ledger hit Galeno with dropkicks, then both went to the top rope. They hit a double stomp on the champion and Ledger covered Galeno for the win.
