World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) announced this morning that in an effort to cut costs, its entire writing staff has been replaced by a sophisticated form of artificial intelligence that can write nonsense faster.
Software giant Innitech AI has unveiled its new Bookerbot GPT software, which can create a year’s worth of matches, storylines and silly behind-the-scenes visuals in an instant.
The software uses a new artificial intelligence (AU) technology called “machine forgetting,” the opposite of machine learning, to rehash old tropes and stories in ways that are comfortingly familiar and easy to understand for audiences.
In the past, all of the hilarious on-screen action and still dialogue was written by WWE’s so-called Creative Team, mostly made up of ex-show writers and ex-faces, but the artificial insanity can pull off the ham punch more effectively than its human counterparts.
By 2027, according to one expert, all wrestling matches will be scripted by artificial intelligence and performed by computer-generated avatars, and audience members will simply have to press a button to cheer, shout or complain online.
