Joe Fagnano had a memorable first NFL start as the Baltimore Ravens quarterback — their third of the season — threw for just 60 yards and had two interceptions as the Jacksonville Jaguars earned a convincing 33-10 victory on the road Thursday night.
Fagnano stepped in because of injuries to Lamar Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley, with the 25-year-old rookie finding things tough as Baltimore (4-5) lost its fourth straight of the season.
With their top two quarterbacks on injured reserve, the Ravens now await the arrival of Jacoby Brissett in a trade from the Arizona Cardinals as they try to prevent their season from derailing.
Jacksonville (6-2) didn’t need to do anything extraordinary to beat a badly depleted Baltimore team. Trevor Lawrence threw for 242 yards and a touchdown as the Jags won their fifth of their last six to take further command of the AFC South.

Jacksonville drove 77 yards on the game’s first possession, taking a 7-0 lead on a one-yard run by Bhayshul Tuten.
The Ravens tried to get creative, repeatedly running Wildcat-style plays where running back Derrick Henry took direct looks. They managed a field goal on their first drive, but nothing more for most of the game.
It was still competitive until late in the first half, when Lawrence found Parker Washington for a 50-yard field goal with 58 seconds left in the second quarter to make it 17-3.
It was 20-3 when a fumble gave Baltimore the ball at midfield in the third quarter, but the Ravens immediately turned the ball over on downs and the touchdowns came quickly from the home crowd.
Fagnano went 10 of 18 with two interceptions in the second half. Baltimore also lost a fumble on a punt return, which led to Chris Rodriguez Jr.’s two-yard run with just over seven minutes left in the game that made it 33-3.
Justice Hill broke free for a 65-yard run 11 seconds later – Baltimore’s first TD after halftime since Week 5. He finished with 85 yards and a score on nine carries.
