Injuries are inevitable when it comes to the NFL, but some teams are in a worse position than their countries after three weeks. Whether it’s a series of shocking injuries to starters or season-ending incidents, there are some teams around the league that are struggling right now because of injuries.
We compiled Injured Reserve (IR) data for all 32 teams, which breaks down players on temporary IR who are likely to return for the season and those who are done for the year. One place of this chart He doesn’t. Track is the importance of special injuries in relation to team success. Micah Parsons missing the first part of the season or Jackson Dart being out for the year will hurt the Packers and Giants more than the late draft picks in camp, but this will paint in broad strokes to show at least three weeks of which teams are sickest and who is relatively injury-free.
Here’s one team that breaks the curve: the San Francisco 49ers. Once again, they are the league’s injury leader and have so many injured players that they spent a lot of time paying eligible players back on IR. That means they have injured players on the main 53-man roster that extends beyond their IR list. The Carolina Panthers placed cornerbacks Jace Horn and Mike Jackson on temporary IRs on Wednesday, but have not yet ruled out any additional temporary injuries.
The +/- column represents the number of injuries above the league average for each team. Positive is worse, groups are more harmed than their peers; Negative is better, that is, the group is healthier than the average.
