Austria’s Julia Grabher, the No. 3 seed, won the Delta Motors Tolentino Open on Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 9 Giomar Maristani’s Zuleta De Reales of Spain 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the final.
Grabher, ranked 111th, needed three sets in three of his five matches. She beat Spain’s Oksana Selekhmeteva 7-6 (5), 6-1, Italy’s Nuria Brancacci 2-6, 6-1, 6-4, France’s Alice Tubelo 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and Italy’s Jennifer Ruggeri 4-6, 7-3,5.
Maristani’s Zuleta De Reales, ranked 178th, advanced to the finals without dropping a set. Her wins came against Italian Jessica Pieri 6-1, 6-2, Swiss No. 8 Rebecca Massarova 6-4, 6-3, Italian wild card Marta Lombardini 6-2, 6-3 and Greece’s Despina Papamikail 6-3, 6-3.
