I have to admit. I love limited edition collaborations. I may never buy one but, man, are they cool to look at.
This new, second golf bag collab between Sun Mountain and Marucci Baseballis a line drive in the gap and is, at least, a triple stand-up.
The new bag is part of the Sun Mountain x Marucci Western Collection. It’s not that elaborate of a collection, really, featuring just the bag and a pretty snappy matching driver’s cap. But there’s something undeniably cool about a golf bag made with leather baseball gloves, suede fringes, embroidered accents and cowboy artwork.

Sun Mountain x Marucci Western Collection: Cowboy Up
As a Boston Red Sox fan, Cowboy Up has special meaning for me. That was the mantra of the 2003 BoSox. Whenever the chips were down, the Sawx they would channel their inner cowboy spirit. That Sox team crashed in the ’03 ALCS (damn you, Aaron-bleeping-Boone). But it set the stage for the biggest October of my life a year later.
So, yeah, I dig it Mountain of the Sun cowboy atmosphere.
The limited-edition Sun Mountain x Marucci bag is crafted from 12-ounce cowhide suede and waxed canvas. It is inspired by Marucci’s Cowboy Nightshift baseball glove.
“Marucci has built a great brand around craftsmanship and performance, and the Nightshift: Cowboy glove gave us a truly distinctive starting point,” says Grant Lordan, Sun Mountain’s Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy. “We’ve been able to bring that Western character into a golf bag that delivers the quality, functionality and performance people expect from Sun Mountain.”
Don’t fence me in
U Mountain of the Sun x Marucci Western bag stand is built on the platform of others Limited edition Sun Mountain bags including his previous collaboration with Marucci. Features 11 pockets, including two velvet-lined magnetic pockets for valuables and your rangefinder. There’s an 8.5-inch four-way top with full-length dividers, a lined water bottle compartment, and Sun Mountain’s Dual Strap System. The entire backpack weighs in at 7.5 pounds, so it’s more for looking than carrying.
The cap is made from the same suede cowhide and waxed canvas as the bag. It’s lined in velvet with a suede fringe, contrast stitching and lots of cowboy artwork. Makes you want to get back in the saddle again, doesn’t it, pardner?
This is one of the more limited limited edition collabs we’ve seen. Only 50 bags and 50 head covers are made, so if you want one, you better move fast.
The bag retails for $1,000 while the hats are a relative bargain at $125.
