Rumors have moved on to the following
Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight title fight where Strickland and Imavov could get it back. With the UFC’s annual December event in Las Vegas still untitled, Strickland says the finer details will be ironed out before the bout can be confirmed.
Strickland says salary talks are the final hurdle before Imavov’s rematch is locked in
According to the two-time champion, the two sides will discuss the fee before the booking becomes official UFC 335. Strickland also scouted Imavov, suggesting the Frenchman isn’t a big draw.
“We are currently discussing pay,” Strickland wrote on X. “If that piece is square, it’s locked. The point is, no one cares about the fake French. We’re almost there.”
Strickland defeated Khamzat Chimaev in big trouble to win the middleweight title for the second time this past June. Imavov, whose last loss came against Strickland in 2023, has since gone on a five-game winning streak against elite opposition, including wins Caio Borralho and Israel Adesanya UFC Fight Night headlines.
