Evloev intends to challenge Alexander Volkanovsky for the featherweight title at
UFC 333 October 24 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. While long considered a top contender, Evloev has yet to record a finish in the UFC.

Evloev wants to win the featherweight title in style.
“This is my first title fight,” Evloev told MMA Fighting. “And we want to make it my first finish in the UFC.”
The undefeated Russian says that while he has beaten champions on the regional stage, he often didn’t get credit for those victories. According to Evloyev, his detractors claim that his opponents were past their prime or came from a bad camp. He doesn’t want to hear the same criticism as he dethrones 38-year-old Volkanovski and wants to take on the best version of “The Big One” in Abu Dhabi.
“I won champions before I joined the UFC,” added Evloev. “And when I beat them, people said, ‘OK, they weren’t as good as before.’ I don’t want to hear that (the old excuse) anymore, so I want him to be at his best so I can show my skills.”
