Baker Mayfield appears to have suffered a major thumb injury against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was fighting for his life in the pocket on a 4th-and-13 play with less than two minutes left as the Buccaneers were leading the Minnesota Vikings 20-16. After fumbling in the pocket for what seemed like an eternity, Mayfield threw himself to the ground, hitting both his upper body and a defender around his ankle.

After the injury, Mayfield went straight to the locker room and left the field with a throwing arm.
Before leaving the game, Mayfield completed 17 of 34 passes for 217 yards, a touchdown and an interception. The Buccaneers are 0-2 on the season.
