Biggest Winners, Losers From UFC Paris

UFC Paris dropped yesterday (Saturday, September 5, 2026) at the Accor Arena in Paris, France for their long-awaited debut Salahdine to Parnawho knocked out Dan Hooker in the very first round with a devastating punch attack (see it here). The main tournament also ended with a knockout Axel Sola stopped Price Ziam also with a devastating left hook in the opening frame (highlights).

Biggest winner: Salahdine Parnasse

After initially rejecting an offer from the UFC two years agoParnasse finally made his long awaited Octagon debut and he did not disappoint. Indeed, the combative Frenchman absolutely wowed the hometown crowd with a steamrolling Hooker, a long-time veteran known for his toughness. It all started with a sneaky jab to the liver that hurt “The Hangman” who had no choice but to swallow the pain after one big bite, forcing the referee to stop the fight. Just like that, Parnasse showed that the hype and the wait was worth it all and maybe earns a spot in the top 15 after his big win. He is a welcome addition to the lightweight division, and all the fights that await him can only be salivating.

Runner up(s): Axel Sola and Open Keita

Sola had a devastating big upset win completely destructive Price Ziam with a big left hook. With the win, Sola secures his second straight win and hands Ziam his second straight loss. Neither man was close in the top 15, but Sola is getting closer after each win, and now that he’s improved to 3-1 inside the Octagon, his confidence is only getting stronger. He also goes home $100,000 richer. Also, in keeping with the theme of an impressive and violent finish, Keita was also not to be left out of the post-fight bonus awards party as he collected $100,000 bonus check after deletion Muhammadjon Naimov in the very first round (highlights). And the fact that he was channeling his inner selfMark Hunt doing it walk off style only made it that much sweeter. It’s a nice bounce back win for “Black Panther” after losing his UFC debut earlier this year.

Biggest Loser: Dan Hooker and Trevor Peek

While Hooker should be given credit for walking into the Octagon with a salute to Parna, the fact remains that “Hangman” has now lost three straight fights. To make matters worse, he is suspended in all three. Things aren’t looking too good for the 36-year-old Aussie, who is now going back to the drawing board to see if he can fix his problems before it’s too late. Also entering the event Trevor Peek was our fighter “Who Needed to Win the Most” seeing how he had been sidelined for two years due to multiple injuries. Peek admitted that layoffs and injuries affected his psycheand victory was paramount. But it wasn’t to be Campbell complained hooked into an airtight back-naked choke that ended the fight in the first round. With the loss, Peek lost his last three fights and his last win came in October 2023. He’s now just 1-4 in his last five fights, so it’s unknown if the UFC will keep him around much longer.
