Veteran NBA head coach Frank Vogel was officially appointed assistant head coach Warriorsthe team confirmed in a press release Thursday (Link to Twitter). The news of Vogel’s hiring was the first reported in July.
Vogel, who has 12 years of major league head coaching experience, spent last season as the top assistant coach in Dallas. His teams have reached the playoffs eight times in his 12 years as head coach, the highlight being a championship with the Lakers in 2020.
In addition to Vogel, Golden State announced several other promotions and additions to its basketball operations department, which includes the coaching staff. for example Ben Stelzerwho is entering his fourth year with the team, has been promoted to lead video coordinator/player development coach.
Other Warriors members getting promoted include:
- Everett Dayton (Director of Player Development/Assistant Coach)
- Tyler Larsen (player development coach)
- Tatiana Lampley (player interaction specialist)
- Jason Staudt (Human Resources Director)
- Eric Hausen (Senior Vice President of Group Operations)
- Burt Ortiz Jr (Team Vice President of Operations)

- Nate Carr (video staff/player development)
- Stephanie Weston (team massage therapist; spent last three years with Pacers)
