Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) flyweight champion Joshua Van will defend his title for the second time against the former 125-pound kingpin Alexandre Pantoja at the main event of the year UFC 331 this weekend (Saturday, September 19, 2026) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
It only took one successful title defense for Van to officially join the ranks of the UFC custom shorts club.
And his new battle kit looked pretty cool.
According to a press release, Van drew inspiration from her heritage, incorporating the colors of the Myanmar flag, patterns inspired by traditional fabrics and the Myanmar hornbill with outstretched wings, a powerful symbol of her roots.
Van also added two of his favorite Bible verses to the design:
Romans 8:31: “What shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not fear, do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Van isn’t the only UFC 331 fighter to get a wardrobe upgrade.
Top lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyanwho fights Mauricio Ruffy In the evening’s co-main event, he finally got his own custom combat pants.
Tsarukyan drew inspiration from the “darker, scarier elements associated with his persona,” channeling that energy through a black-and-gray color scheme and stark, imposing graphics.
Mount Ararat and the Russian Bear complete the design, powerful symbols of his heritage.
Van and Tsarukyan join an elite group of fighters with custom combat pants including Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria, Max Holloway, Merab Dvalishvili, Alexander Volkanovsky, Alex Pereira, Paddy Pimblett, Julianna Pena, Alexandre Pantojaand Khalil Rountreeamong a few special others.
