The Mavericks completed a series of minor roster changes on Tuesday, moving several players to the No. 21 spot on their preseason roster.
After official confirmation Signing on Monday with Matt Crossthe team waived Cross to sign the guard Darrin Green Jr (Link to Twitter), waived Green to sign the forward Chris Mantis (Link to Twitter) and then waived Mantis to sign the big man Jorge Diaz Graham (Link to Twitter).
Dallas has announced a jersey number (#23) for Diaz Graham, so it looks like he will spend at least some time on the roster rather than be waived immediately. The Texas Legends, the Mavs G League affiliate, previously selected the 6’10” forward/center with the first overall pick this year NBAGL International Draft.
Diaz Graham was also part of Dallas’ Summer League squad in July after finishing his college career at Oregon State, averaging 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per game over five games with the Mavericks in Las Vegas.
You can bet Green, Mantis and Diaz Graham signed non-guaranteed Exhibition 10 contracts that will allow them to earn up to $91,000 in bonuses if they spend at least 60 days with the Legends in the G League this season after being waived by the Mavs.
Green played last season for Hapael Holon in Israel, while Mantis was a rotation player for the Capital Go-Go. Legends before purchased both players return of rights through trade.
Here are some more minor NBA transactions for Tuesday:
- After refusal Yuki Kawamura on Monday, Art Clippers announced today (via Twitter) that they re-signed the former Purdue guard Lease of Fletcher to the new Schedule 10 of the contract. The undrafted rookie was with the Clippers through the first week of training camp before becoming refused last Tuesday. Lauer’s previous contract was also an Annex 10 deal that included a full $91K bonus, so perhaps Los Angeles is bringing him back to give him a chance to compete for the team open two-way slot.
- The Jazz abandoned the great man Mohammed Waheteam reported in the press release. The undrafted rookie/center forward signed an Supplement 10 contract with Utah last week and will receive a $5,000 bonus if he spends at least 60 days in the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars this season. The Jazz now have one spot on their 21-man preseason roster.
