Just weeks after his so-called retirement, WWE legend John Cena shocked fans around the world when he confirmed today that he has signed a five-match deal with WWE’s biggest rival in the Middle East, Liv Wrestling.
Cena is the latest in a line of famous sports entertainers to be lured away from WWE and retire with lucrative 14-figure contacts.
Cena confirmed via TOUT that he is “proud to be a part of the Liv Wrestling family” and pledged to uphold his personal motto of “Hustle, Loyalty and Respect” (his original motto, “Hustle Loyalty Respect” remains a registered WWE trademark).
According to leaked documents from Liv Wrestling, other recent signees include:
- Vince McMahon. Starting salary: $1,383,816,346,038,372,464. Four dates.
- Brock Lesnar. Starting salary: $4,494,038,427,394,286 plus 15 percent royalties on merchandise. One date.
- Andre the Giant, revived by artificial intelligence and robotics; patent pending.
- Stone Cold Steve Austin. Starting salary: $3,163,163,163,163,163,163.
Liv Wrestling’s first annual WrestlingMania Spectacular will be held at Saudi Arabia’s new UltraMegaDome, which can accommodate the country’s entire population, and attendance is mandatory.
