Josh Hart he will have to deal with a crippled finger for the rest of his playing career, he revealed social media via Twitter. The Nix the right wing ring finger will need to be taped or wrapped as needed.

“Don’t let me answer that question again. I don’t have any surgery other than a joint replacement.” he wrote. “If I get a joint replacement, I won’t be able to play with it and my career will be over. So it will be wrapped up until I retire.”

Hart injured his finger during the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals. He underwent a medical procedure to repair the finger, but re-injured it a few months later.

Here’s more on the Knicks:

  • Miles McBride said last week that he really wanted to stay with the Knicks, but he was “a little disappointed” with the lack of progress in enlargement talks. McBride reiterated his desire to stay with the team long-term as camp opened, per SNY’s Ian Begley tweets. “I love New York… I want to continue my career here… and finish my career here,” – he said. McBride will be a free agent after the season unless he signs an extension. Financial constraints could make him difficult for New York, given his ownership James Dolan does not want to exceed the second tax apron.
  • Former Knicks big man Julius Randletraded by Minnesota to the Nets this offseason, was glad his former teammates won a championship, Brian Lewis of the New York Post tweets. “I’m happy. I’ve been keeping in touch with the guys. I’ve had a lot of great times here.” – he said. “I’ve spent five years here… So I was thrilled, happy for those guys… It’s been great not only for them, but for the city… We plan to do the same here.”
  • Former NBA guard Rajon Ronda visited the Knicks during their first practice Tuesday. “I got to talk to him, got to really get to know him this summer,” Jalen Brunson said, trans Jared Schwartz of the New York Post. “I definitely watched him. He was so creative and innovative in the way they play basketball. He was definitely an icon when I was younger. So it was really cool to meet him and his family.”
  • Due to the team’s success with this setup during the playoffs, Karl-Anthony Towns will more often serve as a center in the attack in the elbows and facilitate with the ball in the hands, Schwartz writes. “Obviously we’re playing KAT at the elbow a little bit more than what we did (in the regular season last year).” coach Mike Brown said. “Being with this group for a year, you get a better feel for what players can do. Like, I don’t know if OG (Anunoby) can be as effective as he was in the pick-and-roll game. Same with Mikal (Bridges). So we’ll look at continuing to find ways to get those guys involved at the top end of the floor.”
