The TaylorMade Qi4D finished last in ours Hybrid test 2026 but that doesn’t tell the whole story. It was also one of the longest hybrids we tested and had many of the things that golfers tend to notice right away.
The Qi4D earned a distance score of 9.4, the second best in the field. Testers also had good things to say about the feel, speed and matte crown. In other words, there was a lot about this hybrid that made it easy to like.

Distance and feeling can be convincing
We like the distance and we like the feel. It is a characteristic that golfers have.
If a club looks good behind the ball, feels solid at impact and gives us a little extra distance, it gets our attention quickly.
Those things matter and are part of what makes testing new golf equipment fun. The problem comes when they become the only things we care about.
The numbers tell the rest of the story
U Qi4D finished with an 8.1 MGS Score and a 7.4 accuracy score, both lowest in the field.
U TaylorMade Qi4D was about two yards longer in average carry distance than the Mizuno JPX Oneour best overall hybrid of 2026.
The biggest difference was control. U Qi4D produced an area of 2,439 square yards of shooting compared to 1,675 for the JPX Oneabout 46 percent larger. About 92 percent of the Qi4D’s shots were still considered playable compared to about 96 percent with the JPX One, so it wasn’t a hybrid spraying ball all over the place. It was just less consistent.
There was also a ball-volo difference. U Qi4D it was turning about 380 rpm less than the JPX One and produced a slightly flatter flight. That helped contribute to the extra distance, but, for a hybrid that many golfers use to hit greens, the JPX One’s combination of tighter dispersion, more spin and a slightly steeper descent has some obvious advantages.
Make sure the hybrid solves the problem
This is not a reason to cross the Qi4D off your list. For the right golfer, and with the right fit, it could even work in your bag. If you are good at controlling the ball and always hit it straight, but you need a few extra yards, maybe this is for you. The biggest aspect of looking at our worst hybrid of 2026 is to understand that the distance and feel matter. We can’t always count on them (only) to help us score.
