Welcome to October and Autumn! As we reach the end of the first quarter of the 2026-27 NFL regular season, the weather is getting nice and football is well and truly in the air.
The biggest surprise to date might be the 3-0 Raiders, who continue to find ways to win. At the same time, the 0-3 Texans, Chargers and Buccaneers are all struggling to get on the road. The Rams drop to 1-2 and travel to Philadelphia this week. They are a very talented team but they are struggling with consistency.
Alongside the Rams-Eagles this week, we have the Raiders hosting an unexpected battle of 3-0 teams. Packers-Bucs presents a big game for both teams as 1-2 Green Bay and 0-3 Tampa Bay need a win to start the road.
I’m struggling with my best in the first three weeks. Two weeks ago I went 8-8 overall, and this week I went 7-9. I was 4-1 in my high confidence picks, but 1-3 in medium confidence and 2-5 in low confidence. The struggle is real!
Just to remind you that I pick games with winners and losers, but I also offer a level of confidence. I pick the winner of each game and rank the picks based on their confidence level – high, medium, low and no. A game with three asterisks (***) indicates a game in which I will select the bet to win. Whether you should assign confidence points or not, this will help you know where I stand with the polls. And within each group, I ordered them by confidence level.
As always to be clear, I’m a 49ers fan, so you have to take that pick every week with a grain of salt.
