Joshua Van & Manel Kape trade personal shots as UFC title feud heats up

Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight title for the second time at UFC 331 on September 19, earning a unanimous decision over the former champion Alexandre Pantoja in their rematch. Kape, who is seen as a potential challenger for Van’s next title defense, has hit back after the champion took aim at him on social media.

Van mocked Kape in a recent Xi post, teasing a fight between the two attackers.

“Oh fat devil,” Van wrote on X. “Start cutting now because you’ll gain weight better! We don’t want another excuse for weight. Let’s give the people what they want!!!”

Kape soon responded by promising to finish off the champion faster than
Charles Johnson did in Van’s last defeat.

“Did you finally come out of hiding son?” Kape posted in response. “They told me you weren’t sure if you could face your father, but I guess there’s nowhere to run. I promised I’d change your diapers and always keep my word. By the way, the weight I’m gaining is so I can put you to bed even earlier than Charles Johnson did.”

Van fired back, mocking online speculation about Cape’s appearance.

“Hiding???” Van wrote. “I’ve been here, like always. You’re just too busy buying a bra, so what.”

Kape returned to trash talk about babies, prompting Van to question his apparent adherence to diapers.

“The only things I’ve bought are diapers and your health insurance,” Kape wrote. “Trust me, you’ll need both. And like a good father, I’ll make sure everything is taken care of beforehand.”
