Conor McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract and he wants it to be against Max Holloway.
McGregor and Holloway fought in July or were supposed to fight before McGregor blew out his knee on the first pitch of their match. Now “The Notorious” says he’s halfway there to recover from his injury and he wants to be “blessed” again.
McGregor made his comments at BKFC Glasgow’s post-event press conference, the first press to advertise co-owned by Conor have done for several months. He has said that BKFC is where he is going to fight after his UFC career ends, but he wants to end that career against Holloway.
“It’s got to be Holloway. It’s got to be,” declared a bouncy McGregor. “Just do that f–king thing again. The guy never engaged. He’s the one calling for a stoppage. When he said, ‘Ref ref,’ he’s going to stop the fight! Imagine if I’d just said, ‘Yeah, yeah!’
“It was just so shocking and so heartbreaking for me,” she added. “And I’m still at it. It’s got to be Holloway. Come on. Just wipe it off. Do it again. I’m on my way back. What now? November? Three months out of surgery. I did that injury before and I’m back in nine months. So nine months is pre-summer. So I want to go again.”
McGregor didn’t set Holloway’s name in stone and said he’s open to other opportunities… as long as they’re world-class.
“Now Holloway can be a bastard,” he said. “Something could happen. I don’t know. But a fighter who fights me, respect my name. If you’re not a world champion, if you haven’t got world accolades to your name, don’t even say my king’s name. Because if you’re a national champion, if you’re a national champion, if you’re a regional champion, if you don’t do some fkk to yourself.
“Don’t mention my f–king’s name unless you’re a world caliber fighter.”
