The Wallabies and All black people will contest at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday July 31 in next year’s Bledisloe Cup series as part of the 2027 Flight Center Rugby Championship.
trans-Tasman rivals will face each other three times before Rugby World Cup Group A encounter in Sydney, including the historic Anzac Day Test at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
Melbourne will continue that host the future Bledisloe Cup nodes, with the Victorian Government also confirming the two sides will get to know in the city again in 2029
The last time the All Blacks and Wallabies met at the MCG was back in 2023, when a massive crowd of 83,944 packed the famous ground. The guests won that battle for the Bledisloe Cup with a score of 38-7.
“The Melbourne Cricket Ground is one of the world’s greatest stadiums – and the jewel in Australia’s sporting crown – and the Wallabies are proud to host the All Blacks at the iconic stadium in 2027,” Rugby Australia said CEO Phil Waugh.
“The Wallabies and All Blacks have only played four previous Test matches at the MCG and this Bledisloe Cup encounter will mark 30 years since both teams first stepped onto the hallowed ground. The Wallabies and All Blacks have each won two Tests at the ‘G’ and another exciting contest awaits next year.
“It is fitting that a year as significant for Australian rugby as 2027 includes a blockbuster home Test match at the MCG. I would like to express my sincere thanks to our partners in the Victorian Government, Visit Victoria and New Zealand Rugby to bring this exciting initiative to life.”
