The final round of the 2026 Butterfield Bermuda Championship has been canceled due to inclement weather, the PGA Tour announced Sunday night. The PGA Tour initially canceled all play on Sunday due to high winds and had hoped to play the final round on Monday, but the forecast won’t allow it.
Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power, who are tied at 16 under par, will have a sudden death playoff on Monday morning to determine the winner. The playoffs are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET, weather permitting.
Smotherman is looking for his second FedEx Cup win of the fall season. He won his first PGA Tour event at the Bank of Utah Championship a few weeks ago. Power is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, whose last victory came in Bermuda in 2022.
With one round remaining, play was scheduled to begin early Sunday morning with trios teeing off from the split tees beginning at 6:45 a.m. ET, despite a forecast of steady rain and wind.
But as tee times approached Sunday, tee times were first pushed back an hour to a 7:45 a.m. ET start, with the leaders of the final group scheduled to go at 9:46 a.m. ET. But shortly after that update, the Tour canceled the day’s play due to deteriorating conditions and extremely strong winds.
BUTTERFIELD BERMUDA CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE: With no improvement in current weather conditions and further deterioration anticipated, there will be no play today.
More information on Monday’s game will be provided no later than 5:00 PM local time today. https://t.co/pRUH8DY0Ze

The PGA Tour hoped to find a promising hole in the weather forecast. Unfortunately, the unfavorable forecast will not allow that, so only two golfers will shoot on Monday to determine a winner. The rest will go home or to Mexico for next week’s VidantaWorld Mexico Open.
