Page ended his current UFC contract with the unanimous decision victory Nursultan Ruziboev at
UFC Paris on September 5. Despite the victory, the former Bellator
standout has now been removed from the final ranking round of the promotion, according to an email sent to members of the ranking panel.
Michael Page was removed from the UFC rankings after his win at UFC Paris
Longtime mixed martial arts reporter John Morgan shared an email he received from the UFC regarding the latest round of ranking updates.
“Dear Panelists, Michael Page has been removed from the rankings effective immediately,” the email read. “If you’ve already ranked him in your middleweight, we’re asking you to re-rank him in that division to make sure you have 15 athletes.”
This comes after Page himself admitted that he may not be offered a new UFC contract after yet another split decision victory.
“They weren’t happy with me before; they’re not happy with me now,” Page said after the fight. “When I put myself in their shoes, it’s like, ‘We can re-sign him, but are we going to see much more?'”
