Simon Zajicek became the first Providence Bruins goaltender to ever score a goal to help the B’s beat Charlotte 6-2 on Saturday night.
Zaycek was the last Providence player to touch the puck before the Checkers carelessly sent it the length of the ice and into their empty net.
Zaycek also made 30 saves and Mikey Easimont scored a hat trick as the Bruins earned their first win of the season and first career win for the head coach Trent Whitfield.
